A very rare good Victorian 17th Lancers cap complete. Helmet plate with Crimea Battle Honors, Central India and South Africa 1879. Two Lion head boss and velvet backed chin chain . The mortar board and skull with Cross bones still have superb finish. It reads Seventeenth Lancers Skull or Glory Alma, Inkerman, Central India, Balaclava, Sevastopol, South Africa 1879. The pom pom has a Skull and cross bone button in its middle. The top of the hat has a hole and some separation on the edge on one side. The liner and inside of the hat is nice. Under the visor brim is marked 17L 3697 and 93. I believe the 93 represents 1893. View pictures for more description. This hat is rarely available for a collection.
