Authentic Early WW1 US Army Eagle Snap Canteen And Cover 371TH BLACK REGIMENT

An extremely rare early Canteen with its snap cover. It is marked as coming from the 371th Infantry (African American Segregated Regiment) M company. This unit was heavily involved in the fighting check them out online, where I'm sure this canteen acquired most of its wear. The canteen itself has soldiers initials. A truly fantastic piece and a great item from an all black fighting WWI regiment.
The 371st Infantry Regiment was a segregated African American regiment, nominally a part of the 93rd Division (Colored), that served in World War I under French Army command, and also in World War II in the Italian Campaign as part of the 92nd Infantry Division (Colored).[1][2] In both wars the unit had primarily African American enlisted men and white officers
