ALABAMA CORP OF CADETS STAFF OFFICER SWORD CONFEDERATE VETERAN CA. 1870-96

THIS SWORD WAS MFG. BY C.A. HART OF PHILA. THE HART CO. WAS IN BUSINESS FROM 1870-1896. THIS SWORD BELONGED TO WILLIAM H. SILVER CO. A------ "ALABAMA STATE CADETS" IS INSCRIBED ON THE BLADE. PLEASE REFERENCE PICTURES. WILLIAM SILVER DIED IN 1936 AT THE AGE OF 89. INFO IS THAT MR. SILVER MAY HAVE RETURNED TO THE SCHOOL AFTER HIS SERVICE IN THE CIVIL WAR. I FOUND A REFERENCE TO HIM IN A 1932 ISSUE OF THE CONFEDERATE VETERAN MAGAZINE.
THE SWORD IS ETCHED AND THE POMMEL CAP HAS THE DROOP WING EAGLE. IT HAS A BRASS HAND GUARD WITH CAST EAGLES ON EACH SIDE WITH AN ENGRAVED A.C.C. ALABAMA CORP OF CADETS. THE SCABBARD IS ALL BRASS AND NICE DONE ETCHED ALL THE WAY DONE ON ONE SIDE IT HAS A FEW DINGS NOTHING DISTRACTING.PLEASE VIEW PICTURES FOR CLOSE UP DETAILS.
